The Chairman of the commission Prof Mahmood Yakubu has made it clear that INEC announces the number of registered voters on Wednesday 11th January at a meeting with 18 registered political parties in Abuja. He also said that the commission does not have any plan to postpone, shift or cancel the elections and other related activities as has been planned. He rather urged Nigerians to ignore such insinuations.

INEC Announces The Number Of Registered Voters According to Gender
According to his statement, INEC announces number of registered voters and states that it is only forty-nine million, fifty-four thousand and one hundred and sixty-two (49, 054, 162) males and forty-four million, four hundred and fourteen thousand, eight hundred and forty-six (44, 414,846) females will vote in the 2023 polls to elect the presidential, governors, national and state assembly members. Further statistics show that Lagos State has the highest number of registered voters at seven million, sixty thousand, one hundred and ninety-five (7,060, 195) followed by Kano state with five million. nine hundred and twenty-one thousand, three hundred and seventy. Ekiti state has Nine hundred and eighty-seven thousand, six hundred and forty-seven (987,647) registered voters making them the third in the ranking list.
