Australia has a Defence force which is popularly called Australian Army. The Australian Army is the principal land warfare of Australia as a country. It is part of the Australian Defence Force comprising the Royal Australian Navy and the Royal Australian Air Force. The Australian Army was established on 1st March 1901. It has a commander known as the Chief of Army who reports to the Chief of Defence Force that commands the Australian Defence Force as a whole.
